The stupid phrase “White Balance” comes from professional video. Filmmakers Studio to use a special type of oscilloscope or a waveform monitor in the parade mode (or a vector scope in the old days) is equal or “balance” the signals from the camera, red, green and blue channels. A balance between these three signals is white and neutral gray look.

In digital photography (and amateur video), we are very much easier. Just press a button to neutral whites, or let the camera do it automatically. It is trivial to adjust it for the underlying option, the colors view you as shifting use!

How to set white balance

Tips For Using White Balance

Different settings change the amount of orange or blue color cast, usually to compensate for any cast in the lighting. If you have no blue or orange cast you get neutral whites, which is what you usually get if you use the settings suggested by the instruction book. The Fluorescent settings take out the green from Fluorescent, mercury, HMI and metal halide lights used in your garage, sports stadia and parking lots. Exposure

Taking a light reading from an 18% gray card guarantees you a correct exposure, provided that your main subject is lit at the same level. Get your subject to hold the card and zoom in so that the card fills the frame. To get the best result, you need to set the exposure manually.
