In many courses, which I have learned a better photo, there are often discussions about the harvest. Some say it’s not ok, others feel there is nothing wrong with that. Some teachers fall into the first category, the other in the second. What is really the best option then?
That depends on your intentions and the general philosophy of photography. Let’s look at both sides:
The “no cropping” school of thought:
In general, I am in that category, because the way I was trained in photography. I learned early on with print film, however, went on film shortly after the start of my company and heard that prune like silver or tape masks the editors will send the originals to see the treatment. That meant I had better get on the picture that I really wanted the camera, so I am not a “fast” photo afterwards. I welcome this – grinding my vision and my technical skills.
